Amadou Onana and Everton face some tough weeks. The Liverpool club is accused of having suffered too many losses for years. The Premier League now wants to punish them severely for this. If Everton is found guilty, they will face a reduction of twelve points. That would drop it to last place.

Everton is fighting relegation after nine matchdays in the Premier League. The Toffees only collected seven points and are currently in sixteenth place. Yet the relegation battle could become a lot more difficult. They face a stiff punishment.

The Premier League accuses Red Devil Amadou Onana’s team of having suffered too many losses for years. In recent years, Everton is said to have made a total loss of more than 500 million euros. It would have gone over the line, especially in the 2021-2022 season. Then it attracted no fewer than eleven new players. This is contrary to the Financial Fair Play rules that football clubs must adhere to. The Premier League’s directors have now had enough. They are now challenging The Toffees before an independent committee. The Telegraph reports this.

That committee must determine whether Everton will be punished for their financial mismanagement. If Everton are actually found guilty, they will face a severe punishment. Everton would then lose twelve points. This would mean that Amadou Onana and co would tumble to last place with a negative points balance. To be continued no doubt.
