Eredivisie: RKC goes up and over Heerenveen, Groningen breaks bad series against Excelsior

RKC Waalwijk turned a 1-0 halftime score against Heerenveen into a 1-4 victory on Saturday evening during the 23rd round in the Eredivisie.

Sydney van Hooijdonk (35.) showed the Frisians the way, but goals against from Florian Jozefzoon (61. and 90.+4), Julian Lelieveld (75.) and Yassin Oukili (77.) turned the match completely in favor of the visitors. Shawn Adewoye, Dario Van den Buijs and Thierry Lutonda had a basic place there. On the other side, Antoine Colassin had 20 minutes to prove himself.

In the ranking of the Dutch first division, RKC leapfrogs Heerenveen. RKC is now eighth with 32 points, Heerenveen ninth with 30 units.

Earlier in the day, Groningen broke a series of eleven league games without a win. Excelsior Rotterdam, with Siebe Horemans 81 minutes between the lines, suffered a 3-0 defeat. The last Groningen victory already dated from October 23 against PSV (4-2). Groningen remains penultimate. The team from Rotterdam is just above the relegation line, in fifteenth position with 20 units.
