No success in Mexico: Ysaline Bonaventure takes next place against Siniakova in the quarterfinals of WTA Merida


Ysaline Bonaventure (WTA 95) was unable to qualify for the quarterfinals of the WTA250 tournament in Merida, Mexico (hard/USD 259,303) on Thursday (local time).

Bonaventure lost in the second round (round of 16) against the Czech Katerina Siniakova (WTA 47), the fourth seed, in two sets: 6-0 and 7-5. The game lasted 1 hour and 7 minutes. She was the only Belgian to appear in the main draw of the tournament.

Siniakova will face Italian seventh seed Elisabetta Cocciaretto (WTA 54) in the quarterfinals. First seed Magda Linette, Rebecca Peterson, Kimberly Birrell, Caty McNally, Camilla Giorgi and Sloane Stephens also have a spot in the quarterfinals.
