FIFA president Gianni Infantino feels “shocked and saddened” after attack in Brussels: “Our thoughts go out to the people of Belgium and Sweden”

Gianni Infantino, president of the World Football Association FIFA, has spoken out about the terrorist attack that took place on the streets of Brussels yesterday. Two Swedish fans lost their lives. Infantino said he was “shocked and saddened” by the tragedy and expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

The football world is in turmoil after the attack on two Swedish fans in Brussels. FIFA president Gianni Infantino also spoke out about the drama that took place near the King Baudouin Stadium.

“I am deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic death of two Swedes in Brussels near the stadium where Belgium hosted Sweden in a European Championship qualifying match,” Infantino said on Instagram. “On behalf of FIFA and the football community, I express my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Our thoughts go out to the people of Belgium and Sweden, their respective national teams and their associations.”
