Dieumerci Mbokani easily pushed a cross past Genk goalkeeper Leysen into the far corner after five minutes. Jay-Dee Geusens surprised Beveren goalkeeper Reus before half-time with a long shot from outside the box. Dario Cutillas-Carpe gave Genk the lead after an hour after a great action and assist from Kelvin John. But Beveren increased the pressure against a tired Jong Genk and Lucas Ribero curled the 2-2 past Leysen in the final phase.

Beveren is 40 points behind leader RWDM (also 40 points), which will play against Standard’s promises on Saturday. Jong Genk is currently eleventh with 16 points.

Jong Genk played the home game on Friday in an empty Freethiel stadium in Beveren, to save the field in the Cegeka Arena for next Sunday’s top match against Antwerp. Fans were not welcome so neither team had home field advantage.

For Lommel, Costa Rican attacker Alonso Martinez scored the 0-1. Martinez pushed in his second of the evening less than ten minutes later from close range after a ball stuck in front of Anderlecht’s goal. Ishaq Abdulrazak made the connection goal for Anderlecht in the 65th minute. Lommel handed over the game in the end. Abdulrazak shot the 2-2 on the board with a beautiful long shot.
