Basketball player LeBron James has achieved a so-called triple-double for the first time this season in the American professional league NBA in the legendary Madison Square Garden. James defeated home team New York Knicks with Los Angeles Lakers after extra time (123-129) and reached double digits in points, assists and rebounds.

James added 28 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. To break the absolute points record, the star of the Lakers still needs 89 points. The NBA record has been held for years by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 38,387 points.

After a first game against the Indiana Pacers, an improvement in the night from Saturday to Sunday against the New Orleans Pelicans seems feasible. “It’s not like I’m going to disappear any time soon. I will stay in this league for at least a few more years. So I’m going to make it and that’s why it doesn’t feel that hard,” said 38-year-old James.
