According to British The Athletic Real Madrid is planning to re-approach Kylian Mbappé soon. The French superstar’s contract from Paris Saint-Germain expires next summer, leaving Mbappé free to negotiate with other clubs from January 1, 2024.
Thibaut Courtois’ Real Madrid still has Kylian Mbappé high on their wish list. Even after an earlier failed attempt to sign the now 25-year-old Frenchman. You know, last season thought The Royal Mbappé to announce when he already had an expiring contract in Paris. But then the easy-scoring striker turned around and signed a new contract with PSG.
It expires at the end of June 2024, so Real Madrid plans to meet with Mbappé again from January 1. According to The Athletic the Spaniards want more certainty this time and are setting a deadline for the Frenchman: they want to know where they stand in Madrid before mid-January.
In order not to cause unrest among the current attacking players in the Madrid core, Mbappé will reportedly have to settle for a salary equivalent to that of his possible future colleagues. The Spanish Brand also seems to know that Real will make the same offer as in 2022, but that it is “now or never for Mbappé”.
