The transfer from Vanzeir to New York Red Bulls is almost complete, which meant that Union had to urgently look for offensive reinforcements this transfer period. That reinforcement quickly found it with Yorbe Vertessen: the 22-year-old Belgian is rented from PSV until the end of the season, where he barely gets any playing minutes.

Vertessen has to compete with Boniface, Nilsson and Eckert at the front of Union.
“When I spoke to the club management, I was immediately convinced of this step,” says Vertessen in a statement on the club website. “I want to make minutes here and make my mark. The fact that Union is still active on three fronts makes me very excited to contribute. I can’t wait to play at the Marienstadion and experience the warm atmosphere of the fans.”
