Magali Kempen misses final place at ITF tournament in Sunderland

Magali Kempen (WTA 211) was unable to qualify for the final at the ITF tournament in Sunderland, England (hard/60,000 dollars) on Saturday.


Kempen lost in the semifinals against the German Mona Barthel (WTA 222) in two 6-3 matches. The game lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Greet Minnen (WTA 223) may be waiting for Barthel in the final, if she settles in her semifinal with the Dutch Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove (WTA 260) later on Saturday.

The 25-year-old Kempen will also play the final in the doubles tournament in Sunderland later on Saturday. On the side of the British Eden Silva, she faces the British tandem Ali Collins/Freya Christie.
