Rennes doesn’t get anything from Lorient, Almeria is Espanyol’s boss

Stade Rennes was unable to pick up anything at Lorient on the 20th matchday in Ligue 1 in a duel of the subtoppers. It became 2-1.

Halfway through it was already 2-0 thanks to Montassar Talbi (13′) and Theo Le Bris (31′). The connection goal came deep in the second half in the name of Flavien Tait (73′), but there was no more to it. Arthur Theate played for 90 minutes at the heart of the losing defense. Jérémy Doku had more than half an hour to straighten out the lopsided situation.

Rennes remains fifth in the standings of the French first division with 37 points. Lorient in turn climbs to sixth place with 35 pieces.

At the same time, Almeria dominated La Liga Espanyol 3-1 in the 19th round. Luis Suarez (21′), Leo Baptistao (61′) and Francisco Portillo (77′) put their names on the scoreboard for the home team, Joselu (90’+3′) saved the honours. Largie Ramazani watched the entire game from the winning bench.

In the ranking of the Spanish highest football department, Almeria climbs to eleventh place with 22 points.
