Menen failed to save the honor in the Champions League volleyball on Wednesday. The Belgian vice champion also lost his sixth and last group match. It became 0-3 (24-26, 20-25, 17-25) against the Czech Karlovarsko, so that Menen ended the European campaign without a set win.

Roeselare was unable to qualify for the play-offs of the Champions League on Wednesday. In his last group game, the Belgian champion suffered a 3-2 defeat at the Italian side Civitanova. The set scores were 25-23, 26-28, 23-25, 25-17 and 15-9. To finish second in the group, behind the unapproachable Civitanova, Roeselare should have won 0-3 or 1-3.
The best third was also fished out for the play-offs, but Roeselare was the second-best third and thus continues the European adventure in the quarter-finals of the CEV Cup. In it, it meets Maaseik in a Belgian get-together. Roeselare first plays at home on February 8, followed by the second leg in Limburg a week later.
