Jack Hendry, loaned out to Cremonese by Club Brugge, is now really on his way back. Both clubs are in the process of finalizing the deal. Scott Parker was in favor of Hendry’s arrival and, despite limited compensation, the board also believes he can return to importance.
Not much more can be expected on the incoming front, says sports manager Tom Caluwé. “Maybe there are opportunities, but we just have a strong core that we believe in. In principle, we do not expect spectacular things. In that respect, it gets busier in the summer.” According to Caluwé, the fact that Club inquired about strikers such as Dessers or Henry means nothing. “We try to be ready, in every position, at all times. An extra striker? No, that’s not what we’re looking for. There won’t be much movement.”
Rather than getting new players, Club has mainly been busy selling superfluous players à la Vormer, Larin, Sobol, in order to reduce the core. “We have made outgoing transfers to keep an eye on the balance. We are almost done.”
