Dominik Thalhammer saw KV Oostende lose for the sixth time in a row (five in the league, one in the cup), but the Austrian continues to remember the good things from every defeat.

“Our start was certainly not good defensively and it also resulted in two easy goals against. This really shouldn’t happen, because we wanted to start aggressively and with a lot of pressure on the opponent. Not so. But after the twentieth minute we got more and more control over the match. From the first half I remember the big chance for Musayev, from the second half Bätzner’s penalty, debutant Durdov’s shot on the crossbar and the many small chances. From the end of the first half we also played more according to our principles, so also more aggressive. My players never gave up today.”

“Of course I also note the lack of efficiency, but I prefer to focus on the creation of our many scoring opportunities. It’s so important that we keep creating this. At the same time I realize that my young team really needs to win and that the boys deserve this too. They work so hard every day. Their confidence must not be eroded by this series of defeats. In addition, we again missed key players like Ambrose and Hornby. As soon as we finish our chances, that three-pointer will come. We have a lot of good moments against good teams. Unfortunately, we also experience many bad moments… We need regularity.”
