Monaco took the lead after just two minutes after a goal from French international Axel Disasi (2.). Barely four minutes later, ex-Bruggeling Krépin Diatta (6.) doubled the score. Ajaccio halved the deficit through Youcef Belaili (11.), but Monaco captain Wissam Ben Yedder (21., 28., 35.) completely crushed the visitors before half-time with a hat-trick in less than fifteen minutes. The Swiss striker Breel Embolo (63., 89.) completed the goal feast in the second half with two hits.
Monaco climbs to fourth place in the standings. It now counts three points more than pursuer Rennes, which has played a game less. Number three Marseille has five points more.
