Football was also played in the Premier League on Sunday. Newcastle played against Fulham at the same time and achieved the same result: 1-0. However, the result could have been completely different, because a remarkable penalty goal by Aleksandar Mitrovic (ex-Anderlecht) on behalf of Fulham was rejected.

Newcastle, in turn, seemed a long way to a goalless draw against Fulham, but halfway through the second half it was the visitors who had a chance to score from the penalty spot. Aleksandar Mitrovic also succeeded, but the goal was rejected. After all, Mitrovic slipped and hit the ball twice, which is not allowed with a penalty until another player has touched the ball.

Newcastle therefore escaped, but still seemed to have only one point left in the match. Until Alexander Isak took care of the liberating 1-0 in minute 89. It was also a liberation for the Swede, because he was out for a few months with a hamstring injury and was only allowed to play again at Newcastle for the second time.

Chelsea wint derby

Chelsea also played in a London derby against Crystal Palace on Sunday. The Blues were saved by a hit from Kai Havertz almost halfway through the second half. The match also ended 1-0.

Chelsea shares ninth place with Liverpool in the standings: both teams have 28 points. Newcastle is third with 38 points – it shares that spot with Manchester United – and is so close to Manchester City, who lost the city derby to United on Saturday.
