Deinze won a make-up game of the eighteenth matchday of the Challenger Pro League against Beerschot on Sunday after a spectacle. The East Flemings gave away a 2-0 lead against the team from Antwerp, who led the second division with the same number of points as SK Beveren, but still won 3-2.

Deinze and Beerschot normally had to give each other mid-December, but due to the ice-cold temperatures, the field in the Dakota Arena was unplayable at the time. Deinze took the best start with a month delay and Alessio Staelens (26. and 45.) put the visitors twice behind in the first half.
Thibo Baeten, however, brought back the tension with the 2-1 in the 71st minute. The same Baeten (85.) was the hero five minutes before the end with the equalizer on penalty kick. Via Bafodé Dansoko (90.) the three points still remained in Deinze.
Beerschot and SK Beveren each count 35 points from eighteen games and lead the Challenger Pro League ahead of RWDM (34 points). Deinze has 24 points as number eight.
