Ruud Vormer has already closed the Bruges door for two weeks for a new adventure at Zulte Waregem. But at Blauw-zwart they are grateful to Vormer for all those beautiful years. The Dutchman was waved goodbye on Sunday afternoon before the kick-off of the match against rival Anderlecht.

At the beginning of January, the 34-year-old Dutchman finally got hold of his transfer. Vormer was the figurehead and captain of the championship team for years and won five national titles, but in the past two seasons he ended up on the sidelines and barely made any selections. He played for Club Brugge since 2014.
Vormer witnessed the resurgence of blue and black in Belgium. He came out no less than 356 times for Club, good for 63 goals and 95 assists. And if the fans haven’t forgotten ‘their Ruud’ yet. A beautiful tifo adorned the stadium and Vormer was also put in the spotlight by chairman Bart Verhaeghe.
