Wouter Vandenhaute came back to the Jean Kindermans case in his extensive interview on the Anderlecht website on Saturday. The Purple & White head of youth academy should leave, according to various media reports. Wouter Vandenhaute indicated that he wanted to continue working with Kindermans in the coming years. “We hope that he will be part of the future,” said the ‘non-executive chairman’ of the Brussels residents since Saturday.

Vandenhaute started his chapter on the Purple & White youth academy on a sharp note. “When it comes to Neerpede, we must dare to take a critical look at ourselves. I think we need to take a number of steps with Neerpede. Neerpede was way ahead of most academies 15 years ago. A fantastic job has been done, and it continues to work very well to this day. But we have to make sure we don’t lose the lead we have today.”
“That is why we urgently need to make a number of innovations. First of all, we have to look at our infrastructure, because we are simply lagging behind. We have to work on that and find solutions for it, and we are working hard on that. We have allocated money for this.”
Jean Kindermans has been at the head of Neerpede for more than sixteen years, but would have received his advance notice from the board. “He has always been very important in Neerpede’s story,” Vandenhaute admitted. “He is the architect of that story, and we would like to continue working with Jean as well. We hope he will also be a part of the future. I hope that Jean and Jesper (Fredberg, ed.) will be able to reach a renewed agreement in the coming period.”
