Roeselare remains clear in Lotto Volley League, Achel surprises Haasrode Leuven

National champion and league leader Roeselare won 3-0 against Guibertin on Saturday on the twelfth matchday in the Lotto Volley League. The set scores were 25-21, 25-14 and 25-18.

Maaseik made it further with 0-3 at Ghent: 19-25, 12-25 and 24-26.

In the standings, the unbeaten Roeselare remains in the lead with 32 points after eleven victories in as many games. Maaseik follows with one race less on the counter in second place, nine points behind the leader.

In the battle for the top six, which may participate in the Champion Play-offs at the end of the season, Aalst did a good job by beating Menen 2-3: 25-18, 24-26, 22-25 , 25-22 and 16-18. Aalst is sixth in the standings with 14 points, Menen is one point more in fifth place.

Finally, Achel was 3-2 too strong for Haasrode Leuven. The visitors managed to catch up 2-0 (25-21, 27-25) (19-25, 14-25), but eventually Achel won the tiebreak with 15-11. Thanks to the victory, the Limburgers climb from ninth and last place to seventh place with nine points. Warworm, which didn’t come into action, is the new red lantern.
