Thirty years ago, things were also rumbling at Anderlecht, which fired coach despite leading position: “I said with a laugh that I slept with the chairman’s wife”

Oh irony. Anderlecht is experiencing one of its biggest crises ever, but exactly thirty years ago it threw coach Luka Peruzovic out while he was leading with six points ahead of Standard. Officially due to a lack of champagne football and a hypothermic relationship with the team, but it was soon said that he was hooking up with Vanden Stock’s wife. For the first time, the 70-year-old Croatian now tells the real story. “I should have just punched someone in the face.”
