With the stream of hate reactions against the youth players of AA Gent, racism in football is once again the focus. “There is an acute problem. The situation is harrowing,” says Dirk Thijs. He is the chairman of the ‘racism court’ of the Belgian Football Association. He already received 98 files, and the season is only halfway through.
