Atlético Madrid surprisingly lost on Saturday evening when they visited Cadiz, which is in a relegation spot in La Liga in eighteenth place. Diego Simeono's team lost 2-0.

After a long drawn-out attack, Juanmi was able to head in from the center of the goal halfway through the first half. In the second half, the Spanish striker from Cadiz pushed Atlético even deeper into the hole with a second goal in minute 64.

Axel Witsel played the entire game in Los Colchoneros' defense. Arthur Vermeeren came off the bench in the 71st minute to relieve Samuel Lino. These were only the first minutes in three weeks for the Red Devil, who received a yellow card in La Liga ten minutes after coming on as a substitute.

Atlético remains in fourth place in the standings. The Madrid team has 55 points, eleven fewer than leader Real. Thanks to the unexpected victory, Cadiz comes within two points of Celta's safe seventeenth place.
