Flipkens beats Zimmermann in a Belgian get-together and is in the Hobart doubles final

Kirsten Flipkens has qualified for the doubles final on Friday at the WTA 250 tournament in Hobart, Australia (hard/$259,303).

The 37-year-old Kempense reached the semi-finals, alongside the German Laura Siegemund, in two sets (6-2 and 7-6 (7/5)) against Kimberley Zimmermann and the Ukrainian Nadiya Kichenok. The party lasted an hour and 35 minutes.

In the final, Flipkens and Siegemund, who together form the first seed in Hobart, will meet the winners of the second semi-final. It will be played later Friday between the Swiss-Hungarian duo Viktorija Golubic/Panna Udvardy and the Norwegian-American tandem Ulrikke Eikeri/Catherine Harrison.
