Club Brugge close to Stoke goalkeeper Joe Bursik, English U23 international has to absorb the departure of Senne Lammens

Club Brugge is finalizing its first winter transfer: Josef Bursik, a 22-year-old goalkeeper from Stoke City.

It is no coincidence that Club now has a goalkeeper, because Senne Lammens – Mignolet’s double – will no longer be renewing his expiring contract and can go to Leeds, among others. Blauw-zwart had been looking for a replacement for a while and so ended up at Bursik. The English keeper with Czech roots was still in the picture at Bournemouth last summer – when Club coach Scott Parker was working there – and is currently in Belgium for his medical tests.

Bursik (1.87 meters tall) has scored 16 goals for Stoke this season, making 53 appearances in total. Until recently, he was also the regular goalkeeper of the English reserves. With the U17 he lost the European Championship final in 2017.
