Leandro Trossard (28) is clearly in a lesser period at his club Brighton & Hove Albion. The Red Devil is increasingly disappearing into the background. His coach Roberto De Zerbi confirmed on Friday afternoon that Trossard is not part of the match selection for Saturday’s top match against Liverpool. “When he realized he wouldn’t play against Middlesbrough, he left training without saying anything,” said the Brighton coach at his press conference Friday afternoon.

The Italian coach of Brighton & Hove Albion said last week that he thought Trossard had not been in great form since his return from the World Cup. “Trossard is a good player, but I want to see him at 100 percent, that has not been the case since the World Cup,” said De Zerbi last week.

Before the league game against Everton on January 3, Trossard had already gone to the bench. Brighton won 1-4, Trossard was not even allowed to come on. And last weekend there was the FA Cup game against Middlesbrough, for which Trossard was not even in the match selection. Now that is again not the case for the league match against Liverpool.

“Leandro is not on the list of players for tomorrow’s game,” said De Zerbi at his press conference. “He knows very well what my opinion is. In the final training session before the Cup game against Middlesbrough, he left the field without saying anything when he realized he wouldn’t be playing. And that is not good.”

The chances are increasing that Trossard will leave Brighton & Hove Albion next summer. His contract is about to expire and he has already rejected several proposals for an extension.
