Namur Capitale eliminated, but 8 Belgian Cats to 1/8th finals EuroCup Women

After Castors Braine, Namur Capitale was unable to qualify for the 1/8th finals of the EuroCup Women. No less than eight Belgian Cats did that with their European teams. Some Billie and Becky Massey were eliminated with the Spanish Estudiantes Madrid.

After the first leg, Namur Capitale also lost the return against the Hungarian Sepsi and with heavy 90-44 figures. Immediately the end of the European campaign for the Walloon team. A strong playing Julie Vanloo (16 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists) and Kyara Linskens (13 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists) won with BLMA Montpellier 96-66 against the Serbian Red Star Belgrade and qualified for the 1/ 8th finals of the EuroCup Women. Julie Allemand (15 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists) also won the second leg against the Polish Gdynia with ASVEL Lyon 72-91. The French team therefore also qualified for the 1/8th finals. Those 1/8th finals will be contested on January 26 and February 1. Strangely enough, there are no confrontations between Belgian Cats and vice-champion Castors Braine does not get a Cat over the floor either. Castors Braine competes against the French Angers for a place in the quarterfinals. Antonia Delaere takes on the Israeli Hapoel Holon with Venice, Serena-Lynn Geldof with Zaragoza against the Polish Lublin, Julie Allemand with ASVEL Lyon against the Hungarian Sepsi, Kyara Linskens and Julie Vanloo with Montpellier against the Turkish Galatasaray Istanbul, Elise Ramette with Cadi La Seu against Flammes Carolo, Hind Ben Abdelkader with Villeneuve D’Ascq against KNA Peac and Maxuelle Lisowa with Ramla against Gorzow (Poland).
