Kevin De Bruyne nominated for the FIFA awards, Courtois among the goalkeepers

FIFA has announced the nominations for The Best award of 2022. Red Devil Kevin De Bruyne is one of the fourteen nominees, Cristiano Ronaldo is missing after a disappointing season. Thibaut Courtois is one of the contenders for the title of “Goalkeeper of the Year”.

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski was voted FIFA World Player of the Year for the past two years and has been nominated again, although Lionel Messi is the top favorite this time. Because not only the 2021-2022 season is taken into account, but also the period up to and including the last World Cup in Qatar.

To be clear, it is not about the Ballon d’Or, still the most prestigious award for the best footballer in the world, which is awarded by the French football association France Football.

Álisson Becker (Liverpool FC/Brazil), Yassine Bounou (Seville FC, Morocco), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid CF, Belgium), Ederson (Manchester City FC, Brazil), Emiliano Martínez (Aston Villa FC, Argentina).
