The thirteenth matchday of the BetFirst BNXT League starts tonight. Limburg United receives (20:30 Alverberg) in Hasselt Brussels. The other four games, including the regional clash between Antwerp Giants and Kangoeroes Mechelen and Ostend-Charleroi, will take place on Friday evening.

The Limburgers, probably still without the injured duo Maxime De Zeeuw (foot) and Anthony Lambot (leg), cannot afford a slip in their own midst against red lantern Brussels in the race towards Elite Gold and a place in the top-5. “This weekend there is a double match day on the bill. After Brussels, a trip to Spirou Charleroi will follow on Sunday. A 2 out of 2 would put us in an ideal position towards Elite Gold. We realize that. I believe in my young selection to fulfill that ambition,” said coach Raymond Westphalen of Limburg United. The American DJ Laster celebrates his debut at the club from the capital.

Friday derby Antwerp Giants-Kangaroes Mechelen and topper Ostend-Charleroi

On Friday (8:30 pm, Lotto Arena) we can look forward to the regional derby Antwerp Giants-Kangaroes Mechelen, live on Play and Pickx Sports and with the Serbian Slovenian Ivan Marinkovic (2m08) who will be in action for the Sinjoren for the first time. If the Giants succeed four in a row, they will join the top-3. As the Maneblussers cheer for the second consecutive time versus the Giants, they continue to lead the BNXT League. Ostend cannot afford a second consecutive defeat in the race towards pole position. The coastal team gets a team in shape to visit Charleroi (Friday 8:30 PM COREtec Dôme). The Spirous have won four times in a row and are unofficially in the lead with 8 out of 12. Ostend and Kangoeries Mechelen count one less defeat and have contested one less match. Bergen takes on Leuven Bears in the Mons Arena. Okapi Aalst then wants to end a series of five consecutive defeats in its own Forum against the “new look” Liège.
