OH Leuven wins the cup on Friday evening at RC Genk B. Whether against the A or B team, the women of OHL never leave anything to chance and resolutely choose the best sixteen. Who is expected is newcomer Vita van der Linden. The winger who came over from Ajax will get her first playing minutes.

How was your first week at OHL?

“Very good. I have been well received by everyone here and things are going very well. The team is a close-knit group and I was accepted after just one week. I was struggling with an injury before New Year’s, but that is a thing of the past. I would like to talk about that as little as possible now that I am faced with a new challenge here at OHL. By the way, I have had an excellent training week.”

Did you know the Belgian competition?

“ I have been in top football for ten years and am quite familiar with international women’s football. Belgium reaches a decent level in this regard. I don’t know how big the difference is here between the top 3 and the tail. But I assume that in the play-offs the value ratios will be closer together and the level will be higher.”

You played for Ajax, compare it with Belgium?

“We played the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season.”

That says enough. Did you already know someone here at OHL or were you taking a step into the unknown?

“There are girls around here whose names sound familiar to me. But I never played with anyone from the group before. ”

You will soon make your debut in the cup match against RC Genk B. What will that be for you?

“I’m really looking forward to it, write that down. I want to play football and whatever game I want to play and I came here to OHL to contribute to the goals they want to achieve here. Playing and winning matches is what we are here for. At Ajax I was a wing defender, left or right didn’t matter. I liked to move up and mop my flank. Providing assists was one of my strengths. You won’t find me on top scorers lists, but we have other players here for that.”
