Castors Braine to 1/8th finals EuroCup Women

Great performance from Castors Braine. The Belgian vice-champion has qualified for the 1/8th finals of the EuroCup Women. After the first leg, the Walloon Brabant team also won the return against the Turkish Ormanspor.

Last week, Castors Braine won the first leg of the 1/8th finals of the EuroCup Women (Play-Off Round 1) at home 90-62. The first leg in the Turkish capital Ankara and against Ormanspor brought a 71-82 victory via Lore Devos (7 points, 7 rebounds) and Mariam Uro-Nile (20 points, 5 rebounds).

In the 1/8th finals, the Spanish Estudiantes Madrid, with Belgian Cats Billy and Becky Massey, or the French Landes await. Estudiantes lost the first leg by ten points. Tonight is the return in France.

Namur Capitale, which lost the first leg 74-93 last week, also faces the Romanian Sepsi on Thursday evening for an almost impossible task. Belgian Cats as Julie Vanloo and Kyara Linskens (Montpellier), Julie Allemand (ASVEL Lyon), Serena-Lynn Geldof (Zaragoza), Elise Ramette (Cadi La Seu), Hind Ben Abdelkader (Villeneuve D’Ascq), Antonia Delaere (Venice) and Maxuella Lisowa (Ramla) still have a chance to win a place in the 1/8th finals of the EuroCup Women.
