The return of Romelu Lukaku to Inter has not yet proven to be a success, not even in 2023. After the criticism after his weak match in the competition, ‘Big Rom’ now appears to be suffering from a physical ailment again.

The 29-year-old Red Devil will not play in the eighth final of the Italian Cup against Parma, a match scheduled for Tuesday at 9 p.m. So reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“This could have been an opportunity to make minutes and maybe score another goal,” said the pink sports newspaper. “But the verdict came on Monday: an inflammation of the tendons in his left knee. Lukaku’s availability will be re-evaluated in the coming days. It will then have to be seen whether ‘Big Rom’ is fit enough for Saturday’s match against Verona. Lukaku will now first train separately and will only return to the group when he improves.”
Lukaku has made just seven appearances for Inter this season, scoring two goals and one assist, amid a string of injuries that have kept him off the pitch. At the Gazzetta they are already wondering whether the lease between the Nerazzurri and Inter will be extended. That was the original plan, but he’s an expensive bird in terms of salary. Inter expects more from him in the second half of the season.
