In singles, Elise Mertens (WTA 29) is the second seed. The Limburger, who won the tournament in 2017 and 2018, will play against qualifier Maryna Zanevska (WTA 81) in the first round. Mertens won their only previous meeting, in 2017 in Saint Petersburg.

Alison Van Uytvanck (WTA 72) takes to the track against Polish seventh seed Magda Linette (WTA 48). It will be their first duel.

Ysaline Bonaventure (WTA 95), semi-finalist in Auckland this week, opens against Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (WTA 85). The Liège player already beat her once in 2019 in Rabat.

In doubles Kirsten Flipkens forms the first seed with the German Laura Siegemund. They meet the Hungarian Timea Babos and the Slovak Tereza Mihalikova. Kimberley Zimmermann forms a couple with Ukrainian Nadiia Kichenok. Their opponents are the Taiwanese Latisha Chan and the Chilean Alexa Guarachi.
