Guibertin and Waremme go down against Menen and Ghent

Guibertin and Waremme started the year 2023 with a defeat in the Lotto Volley League, the men’s volleyball championship. They went down on Sunday against Menen and Ghent respectively.

After three consecutive defeats to close 2022, Ghent has started with the victory against Borgworm. The East Flemings pulled the sheet in three sets (24/26, 22/25, 21/25). Gent is third with 18 points, Waremme is eighth with 7 points.

Guibertin, the other Walloon team in the highest volleyball class, also lost in a very important meeting with a view to the top 6. After four sets, Menen pocketed the victory (19/25, 26/28, 25/17, 23/25). Guibertin remains seventh with 8 points, after Menen (14 points) and Aalst (12 points).

On Saturday evening, Roeselare and Maaseik, the first two in the standings, collected three points against Leuven and Achel.
