Drama for Leander Dendoncker in FA Cup: Red Devil gives away penalty in the final phase and gets red, after which fourth division team causes a stunt

Several clubs from the Premier League were killed in the FA Cup this weekend, and Aston Villa was also added to that list on Sunday evening. However, Villa seemed on its way to a win against fourth division Stevenage FC, until Leander Dendoncker caused a penalty with only a few minutes to go and was sent off. To make matters worse, Stevenage converted that eleven meter and then scored again: 1-2.

Aston Villa had taken the lead in the first half thanks to Morgan Sanson against Stevenage, who are currently second in League Two (the English fourth class, ed.). However, Villa failed to put the safe 2-0 on the board and even got away well when a wonderful shot from the visitors hit the crossbar.

The home team then got the lid completely on the nose in the final phase. Starring Leander Dendoncker. The Red Devils took down substitute Dean Campbell with just five minutes to go. Initially, the ref seemed to give a free kick, but afterwards it was pointed to the penalty spot. After intervention by the VAR, Dendoncker also received a red card. Jamie Reid converted the penalty: 1-1.

The drama unfolded completely for Aston Villa a few minutes later when Campbell surprised goalkeeper Olsen with a clever shot: 1-2. So a big party with the fans of the fourth division that traveled along, while Aston Villa is already losing its eighth FA Cup match in a row. Remarkable.
