Since Osasuna finished seventh in the Spanish league last season, the club was able to qualify for the Conference League play-offs. The last participation of the team from Pamplona in a European competition was sixteen years ago, when it played in the European Cup.

But Osasuna was banned by the European football association UEFA from participating in the upcoming edition of the Conference League after last season. That decision came because of a case of match-fixing in the 2013/14 season. Osasuna immediately announced that he would appeal to the International Sports Tribunal TAS in Lausanne, and also presented new evidence that the European exclusion was unjustified. Now UEFA has finally agreed with Osasuna, the Spaniards report.

Osasuna will hear on August 7 who the opponent is in the play-off round of the third European club tournament.
