Sander Gillé and Joran Vliegen pocket sixth doubles title in India

Sander Gillé and Joran Vliegen have won the doubles at the ATP250 tournament in Indian Pune (hard/642,735 dollars). It is the sixth doubles title at ATP level for the Belgian duo.

The Limburgers, who were the fourth seed, defeated home players N. Sriram Balaji and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in the final twice 6-4 in the final on Saturday. The game lasted 1 hour and 11 minutes.

In the semifinals, Gillé and Vliegen settled on Friday with the American Rajeev Ram and the Briton Joe Salisbury, who formed the first seed, in two sets: 7-6 (7/3) and 7-6 (7/4).

The 31-year-old Gillé (ATP 60 double) and the 29-year-old Vliegen (ATP 61 double) previously won five ATP titles together, including one in 2021 in Singapore. In 2019 they triumphed in Zhuhai, Gstaad and Båstad. In 2020 they conquered the overall victory in Nur-Sultan (now Astana). They also have lost two finals, in Munich (2021) and Kitzbühel (2019).
