The Spanish league match between Valencia and Cadiz was overshadowed on Friday by the death of a supporter in the stands. The victim suffered a heart attack shortly before kick-off and could not be saved.

“We deeply regret the sad news of the death of a Valencia supporter who was under intensive care in Mestalla shortly before kick-off tonight,” the club said on Twitter.
Because of the drama, the start of the match was delayed by about ten minutes. The fan was taken to the hospital, but the doctors could only determine the death.
