There is interest from New York RB in Union striker Dante Vanzeir, but Karel Geraerts does not break his head about it. Nor is he worried about Teddy Teuma’s absence against Anderlecht: “It is now up to others to stand up.”

New York RB from America has expressed interest in Dante Vanzeir. It is not all concrete, Vanzeir normally starts in the derby against Anderlecht. “These kinds of rumors are part of it,” said Union trainer Karel Geraerts. “It is January after all. Do I talk to him to convince him to stay? That’s not up to me. Dante knows he’s important to us and I’m counting on him. I feel he is very involved. I want Dante to focus on Union.” Geraerts also added that he does not need newcomers in this mercato if no one is leaving.
Union has already won five times in a row against Anderlecht. Will there also be a sixth time? “We are not going to receive anything as a gift,” says Geraerts. “There is a new coach at Anderlecht with new accents, we have to be careful anyway. We also have no psychological advantage or anything. We will do everything we can to win and stay second.”
No Teuma
Union has to do that without the suspended Teddy Teuma. A loss, because the captain is working hard. “But now it is for others to stand up. It goes without saying that we will miss Teddy, he is a key player, but there are plenty of guys who can teach us something, if necessary in a different way. We’re not going to run out of grinta, don’t worry. My whole core has a huge will to win.”
