Southampton gets Croatian World Cup goer
Southampton have taken over Croatia international Mislav Orsic from Dinamo Zagreb. He signed a 2.5-year contract with the Saints, the Premier League red lantern confirmed on Friday.
The 30-year-old Orsic played in the spotlight at the World Cup in Qatar. He played six times, including the entire second half in the semi-final against Argentina (3-0 loss) and 90 minutes in the bronze medal match against Morocco, in which he recorded the 2-1 final score. In the group match against Belgium (0-0), the winger remained on the bench.
Orsic played for Dinamo Zagreb since 2018. This season he has 13 goals (including two in the Champions League group stage) and eight assists in 27 games.
Southampton, Roméo Lavia’s team, is in twentieth and last place in the Premier League with 12 points after eighteen match days.
