An era will really come to an end on January 15, 2023: Ruud Vormer kicks off against arch-rival Anderlecht to wave goodbye to the Club fans. Meanwhile, Club fills the away section for that match with… its own fans.

After 8.5 years, 356 matches and five titles, Ruud Vormer moved to Zulte Waregem, but Club Brugge still wants to give the icon a worthy farewell. And that will be one of size. On Sunday, January 15, the Dutchman kicks off against arch-rival Anderlecht, the team where he was so often booed. But also the team that he humiliated at home with, among other things, 4-0 (championship match in 2016) and 5-0 (in 2017). Vormer also became extremely popular with the Bruges fans due to the ‘destroy it’ statement after that forfait score against the Purple & White.

And Club Brugge has a nice extra in store. “Because Ruud was one of the faces of one of the most successful periods in Bruges’ history, Club also wants to give him a dignified farewell in Jan Breydel, which is filled to the brim”, it sounds there. And take ‘a Jan Breydel filled to the brim’ literally. Since RSCA has to play this match without fans, Club also provides extra seats for our fans in the visitors’ section at a reduced price.” If you want a ticket, you can purchase a ticket with Club ID for just 15 euros.
