Luis Suarez signed a two-year contract with the Brazilian Grêmio at the end of 2022. The soon-to-be 36-year-old Uruguayan was presented to no fewer than 60,000 fans on Thursday. In comparison: 25,000 people showed up for Cristiano Ronaldo’s performance at Al-Nassr.

Grêmio was promoted back to the Brazilian first division last season and hopes to be armed for the new season with the arrival of Suarez. The striker made a big impression in Europe by playing the tiles of the roof at Ajax, Liverpool and Barcelona. Last season he was working in his own country, at Nacional. His contract expired this winter.
