Defeat for Kim Mestdagh in Euroleague, victory for Julie Allemand and Castors Braine in EuroCup Women

In the Euroleague Women (eighth matchday) Kim Mestdagh suffered a narrow defeat with the Italian team Schio. In the EuroCup Women (Play-Off Round 1) there was victory for Castors Braine and Julie Allemand with the French ASVEL Lyon.

In group B of the Euroleague Women, Kim Mestdagh (11 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists) suffered a 65-63 defeat against the Hungarian Therm with Schio. With 5 out of 8, the Italian champion continues to shine in shared second place. The top four of the two groups of eight qualified for the quarter-finals. In group A, Emma Meesseman is in the lead with the Turkish Fenerbahce Istanbul with 6 out of 8.

In the Play-offs Round 1 of the EuroCup Women there was mixed success for the Belgian teams and the Belgian Cats with their European teams. Castors Braine won the first leg 90-62 against the Turkish OGM Ormanspor and has one leg in the 1/8th final of the EuroCup Women. Aleksandra Kroselj (23 points, 7 rebounds) and Jessica Lindstrom (10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists) were the strongholds for Castors Braine. Namur Capitale lost 74-93 to the Romanian team Sepsi. With 16 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists, Julie Allemand led France’s ASVEL Lyon to an 86-62 win against Poland’s Gdynia. Maxuella Lisowa (4 points, 3 rebounds) won the Israeli meeting with Ramla 80-92 against Maccabi Ashdod.

Julie Vanloo (3 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists) and Kyara Linskens (8 points, 9 rebounds) lost with BLMA Montpellier 79-63 against the Serbian Red Star Belgrade. A strong playing Antonia Delaere (19 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists) lost with Venice 89-82 against Sassari, also from Italy. Billie Massey (6 points, 8 rebounds) and Becky Massey (7 points, 1 rebound, 4 assist) lost with the Spanish Estudiantes Madrid 55-65 against the French Angers. Elise Ramette (2 rebounds, 5 assists) triumphed again with the Spanish Cadi La Seu 62-53 against Benfica Lisbon (Portugal).
