The court in Antwerp has sentenced two Brussels residents to four and five years in prison for a shooting in the drug environment in which a house in Berchem was shot at several times.
The case revolved around the attack of 23 to 24 May 2022 in the Baron De Catersstraat in Berchem. That night an Audi A4 stopped in the street, after which a man got out and fired four times in the direction of some houses. The suspected target was a member of a well-known Turkish family from Berchem. The victim is said to be active in the world of international drug trafficking.

According to the Public Prosecution Service (OM), the Audi A4 was registered to Alvin S., a young man who played football with the reserves of KV Oostende and who also played some practice matches with the first team. The investigation showed that Alvin S. had acted as a driver for Abraham Y that night. Although S. claimed not to know why he had to go to Berchem, he was also a cameraman in addition to being a driver. The ex-footballer filmed the shooting so that Y. could forward the evidence to his client.
Alvin S. confessed his role in the story, shooter Abraham Y. in turn continued to deny and claimed that S. wanted to discredit him. The court ruled that both men are guilty, shooter Y. was sentenced to five years in prison on Wednesday, driver S. has to go to prison for four years.
