It’s official: Luis Suarez (36) will also play football for Inter Miami in the autumn of his career. He is thus reunited with Lionel Messi (36), Sergio Busquets (35) and Jordi Alba (34), his friends from FC Barcelona.
Suarez’s arrival in Miami has been in the air for some time and the American club officially announced the news on Friday afternoon. He signed a contract for the 2024 season, which starts in February.
“We are extremely happy to announce the arrival of a world-class striker,” Inter Miami said on its website. “Luis is a real winner with a huge hunger for success. We promised our fans that we would bring the best players in the world to our club and build a team that will compete for trophies. The arrival of Luis fits within this project.”

The 36-year-old Uruguayan said goodbye to his Brazilian club Grêmio at the beginning of this month, where he scored 26 times last year.
In the summer of 2022, Suarez left European football after two years at Atlético Madrid. He had his best periods at Ajax (2007-2011), Liverpool (2011-2014) and FC Barcelona (2014-2020), where he formed a dream duo and became best friends with Lionel Messi. Together with Busquets and Alba, they won four national titles, four Spanish cups and a Champions League.
