Real Madrid with invisible Eden Hazard against fourth division team with their heels over the ditch to the next round Copa del Rey

Real Madrid only narrowly beat fourth division Cacereño in the sixteenth finals of the Copa del Rey. A faded Real was only able to take the lead in the second half through Rodrygo.

Eden Hazard was finally allowed to start again in the base at the Royal on Tuesday evening. That was already since October 11, 2022 (1-1 away at Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League), but our compatriot played an invisible game and barely touched a ball.

The first starting place in almost three months for Eden Hazard at Real Madrid was not glamorous. Real took on – without a zipper – in the sixteenth finals of the Spanish Cup against CP Cacereno, a Spanish fourth division team. In the mini stadium of the home team, the Royal couldn’t make a fist in the first half. Only in the 69th minute did Real take the lead, thanks to a hard bang from Rodrygo. An invisible Hazard had been taken to the side just before and did not take his chance in the base. Our other compatriot Thibaut Courtois suffered a minor injury and was not there.
