Only seven players have ever recorded more than 71 points in one NBA game. The last was the lamented Kobe Bryant. In 2006, he scored 81 points for the LA Lakers against the Toronto Raptors. Since 1962, the record has been held by the legendary Wilt Chamberlain with 100 points.

Mitchell was able to use the extra time that was needed in the game against the Bulls. In the overtime he was good for thirteen points and single-handedly won the victory for the Cavs. DeMar DeRozan led the Bulls with 44 points.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference after their 24th win of the season. Chicago Bulls is only eleventh.
