Earlier on Monday, Alison Van Uytvanck (WTA 72) had given Belgium a first point in the United Cup match against Greece. After 2 hours and 30 minutes, the 28-year-old from Flemish Brabant beat Despina Papamichail (WTA 158) with 7-5, 2-6 and 6-3. After two confrontations it is 1-1.

On Tuesday, Elise Mertens (WTA 29) will give Maria Sakkari (WTA 6) a party and Zizou Bergs (ATP 129) will face Mikhail Pervolarakis (ATP 506). This is followed by another mixed doubles, perhaps with Mertens and Goffin on the Belgian side and Sakkari and Tsitsipas on the Greek side. The Belgian tennis players must win the game with at least 4-1 to take Greece’s group win and the corresponding ticket for the Final 6.
