After the 3-2 defeat against Bulgaria, Belgium will play its last cards in the group stage of the United Cup against strong Greece on Monday and Tuesday. Goffin himself will take on Stefanos Tsitsipas, the number four in the world, tomorrow, Monday. He leads in the mutual confrontations with 4-2. “Of course I remember all those duels. I know how he plays. But since our last meeting (3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Tsitsipas in Estoril 2019 semi-finals) he has made progress. He is now one of the best players in the world. he is a fighter, fighting for every point. He plays very aggressively and it’s hard to argue with that. So I’m faced with a tough task. I also play better and better myself. I will certainly give everything, that is for sure.”

In the game against Bulgaria, Goffin suffered a 6-4, 7-5 loss against Grigor Dimitrov (ATP-28). “I still want to remember the positive thing about that match. I played well. I feel more and more comfortable on the court. In today’s doubles I was able to get some more match rhythm. It was the ideal preparation for my match against Tsitsipas.”
