Emma Meesseman has made a wonderful comeback at Fenerbahce Istanbul. The Belgian Cat led Fenerbahce to a 97-69 win against Ormanspor with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Colleague Cat Julie Vanloo provided no fewer than 19 assists in the match she won and with Galatasaray Istanbul versus Mersin.

On February 18, Emma Meesseman suffered a foot injury in the derby against Besiktas Istanbul. There were fears of a serious injury and long inactivity. An MRI scan quickly provided clarity and the Belgian Cat would be out for a maximum of four to six weeks. Emma Meesseman first received treatment from physiotherapist Jelle Duthoit of the Belgian Cats and then completed the final phase of rehabilitation at the Turkish club.

After just over a month, she celebrated an impressive comeback. The 30-year-old West Flemish native almost recorded a triple-double and led Fenerbahce Istanbul to a 97-68 victory against Ormanspor with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. No less than the 28th consecutive victory in the Turkish KBSL for the club from Istanbul. Good news for the Belgian Cat towards the Olympic Games. Also of course for Fenerbahce Istanbul, which wants to succeed itself as winner of the Euroleague Women next month in Mersin, Turkey and at the Final Four. Fenerbahce will play Mersin in a Turkish semi-final. The second semi-final is between the French Villeneuve D'asq, with national coach Rachid Meziane and Cats Maxuella Lisowa and Bethy Mununga, and Prague.

Last year, Meesseman led Fenerbahce Istanbul to the first Euroleague title ever in the Czech capital Prague. She was also named MVP of the Euroleague. She can win her sixth Euroleague trophy this year. Emma Meesseman would then equal the legendary record of living legend Diana Taurasi.

19 assists for Julie Vanloo at Galatasaray

Julie Vanloo is also doing great at Galatasaray Istanbul. The Belgian Cat led Galatasaray to an 88-99 victory against Mersin with 18 points, 4 rebounds and no less than 19 assists. Vanloo and the club from Istanbul are in fourth place in the Turkish KBSL with 18 out of 28.
