Real Madrid closed the year 2022 yesterday with a 0-2 win on the field of Real Valladolid. Still, the victory would have a bitter aftertaste for flank attacker Vinicius. The Brazilian got jungle sounds thrown at his head during his switch. An action that was unacceptable and that did not leave Vinicius unmoved. “Racists keep coming to the stadiums and La Liga is not doing anything about it,” the Brazilian wrote on social media.

What should have been a big party for Real Madrid, turned out to be a game to quickly forget. Real Madrid may have won a visit to Real Valladolid, it saw Vinicius Jr. being racially treated by the home crowd. This can be seen on images that a supporter made. It is not the first time that the Brazilian has been the victim of racism. The flank attacker also had to deal with this kind of malpractice at the beginning of this season. The Brazilian responded on social media and received the support of teammate David Alaba.
“Racists keep coming to the stadiums to watch the biggest club in the world up close and La Liga keeps doing nothing… I will carry on with my head held high and celebrate my victories and those of Madrid. In the end it’s MY fault”, Vinicius reacted cynically.
David Alaba encouraged his teammate and wants action to be taken. “Enough is enough. More needs to be done. We will continue to be proud of our background. Above all, stay yourself brother,” says Alaba.
